“The lotus flower symbolises the ability to grow from the depths of personal struggle and flourish despite the conditions. I believe people are much the same.

Therapy is not about forcing change. It is about creating the conditions where change can emerge naturally.”.

About Lotus

Therapy is about finding the right person.

Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. You're not simply looking for someone with the right qualifications or therapeutic approach you're looking for someone you can trust with your story.

At Lotus, I don't take that responsibility lightly..

Over the years, I've come to understand that people rarely come to therapy because something is "wrong" with them. More often, they're trying to understand experiences that have shaped how they think, feel, relate to others, and move through the world. Sometimes those experiences are obvious, such as trauma, grief, becoming a parent, or the end of a relationship. Other times, it's the gradual accumulation of stress, responsibility, self-doubt, or life transitions that quietly leaves us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unlike ourselves.

This understanding is the philosophy that underpins my work and the reason I created Lotus Embodied Therapy.

I believe people are remarkably adaptive. Our minds and bodies naturally develop ways of responding to life's experiences in an effort to protect us. While these adaptive responses often serve an important purpose, they can continue to influence how we think, feel, relate to others, and experience the world long after the circumstances that shaped them have changed.

Whether you're navigating a recent challenge or something you've been carrying for many years, my aim is to provide a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Together, we'll explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and work towards greater flexibility, connection, and confidence in responding to life's challenges.

My hope is that Lotus becomes more than a place where you come to talk. I hope it becomes a place where you feel understood, where your experiences are met with compassion and curiosity, and where you can reconnect with yourself in more accepting and integrated ways.

Common Reasons for Counselling.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You don't need to be in crisis or have all the answers before reaching out.

You may be seeking support if:

  • You look like you're coping on the outside, but inside you're exhausted.

  • You're always thinking about what needs to be done next.

  • You find it difficult to switch off, even when you have time to rest.

  • You're constantly carrying the needs of everyone around you.

  • You feel guilty when you say no or put yourself first.

  • You often feel responsible for other people's feelings.

  • You're tired of being the strong one.

  • You feel disconnected from your body and don't really know what you need anymore.

  • You lie awake replaying conversations or worrying about tomorrow.

  • You feel like you're constantly "on".

  • You are successful in many areas of life but secretly feel like you're barely holding it together.

  • You struggle to be present because your mind is always somewhere else.

  • You feel emotionally numb, flat, or disconnected.

  • You find yourself withdrawing from friends, family, or activities you once enjoyed.Looking for practical strategies to navigate stress and build emotional wellbeing.

You might find yourself longing for:

  • More calm.

  • More presence.

  • More connection.

  • More self-compassion.

  • More capacity to cope with life's challenges.

  • More moments where you feel like yourself again.

Therapy isn't about becoming someone different. It's about developing a deeper understanding of yourself, recognising the strengths that have helped you adapt, and creating greater flexibility in how you respond to life's challenges.
